Consulting Manager
Seeking dynamic services professional who can work with sales professionals to scope projects, manage implementation projects, and manage customer relationships. Candidate is responsible for recruiting senior talent and developing their careers in accordance with Column5’s standards. Candidates should have experience in similar roles in a management capacity for a consulting group or vendor in the Enterprise Management industry. Generous salary, benefits, and bonus plan. Candidate must have experience with an Enterprise Performance Management tool such as (Cognos, Hyperion, BPC, BOBJ, etc.). Please do not apply if you do not have this.
Skills
Project Management (Collaboration with Project Management Office)
- Creating and executing project work plans to meet changing needs and requirements.
- Identify resource needs and assign individual responsibilities.
- Manages day-to-day operational aspects of a projects budget, schedule, risks and scope.
- Reviews deliverables prepared by team before passing on to client.
- Effectively applying implementation methodology and enforcing project standards.
- Prepares for engagement reviews and quality assurance procedures.
- Minimizing exposure and risk on project.
- Ensures project documents are complete, current, and stored appropriately.
- Understands standard software development lifecycle (SDLC) as well as methodologies such as Agile and Waterfall.
- Understands Project and Program management methodologies.
Project Accounting
- Assures project legal documents are completed and signed.
- Documents risks and impacts throughout the project cycles.
- Tracks and reviews team hours and expenses on a weekly basis.
- Manages project budget, projections and profitability
- Determines appropriate revenue recognition, ensures timely and accurate invoicing, and monitors receivables for projects in collaboration with Client’s Accounting Department.
- Analyzes project profitability, revenue, margins, bill rates, utilization.
- Accurately forecasts revenue burn, resource needs and resource utilization.
Business Development
- Identifies business development and "add-on" sales opportunities as they relate to a specific project and communicates these to the regional manager or sales team.
- Collaborates with sales to prepare proposals and project scoping for new opportunities
- Participates in sales and marketing events with Sales team when necessary.
Communication
- Facilitates regular team and client communications to ensure clarity of the project goals, requirements and expectations.
- Holds regular status meetings with project team.
- Effectively communicates relevant project information to all stakeholders, sponsors and superiors.
- Delivers informative & well-organized presentations.
- Understands how to communicate difficult/sensitive information tactfully.
- Possesses the skill to diplomatically say ‘No’ without alienating client or the development teams - Manages the project goals and constraints first and bring the client and teams to an understanding of the impacts of even small changes at later phases of the project.
Technical Understanding/ Business Acumen
- Possesses an understanding of finance processes (budgeting, planning and forecasting cycles)
- Is familiar with one or more financial planning tools (ideally BPC)
- Possesses general understanding in the areas of application programming, database and system design.
- Possesses a thorough understanding of Client’s capabilities.
- Maintains awareness of all of Column5’s service offerings as well as new and emerging EPM technologies, services and their potential application on client engagements.
