Introducing  SAP S/4HANA for Group Reporting - a new option from the SAP Portfolio for streamlining the Group Reporting and the Financial Close

There have been significant improvements in the world of group reporting over the past decade and many corporates have invested significant effort and expense to make those improvements. However, the typical Group Finance department still faces many challenges when it comes to Group Reporting and the financial close.

Organizations use different tools for their Accounting and Group Reporting, which results in non-value-added reconciliation processes and still leaves substantial room for error. When the office of the CFO requires financial insights, analysts are held back by the clear separation of operational data in their ERP solutions and the analytical data held in their Group Reporting and Consolidation tools.  Allowing them to easily understand only topside adjustments and the high-level Group position while insights into the transactional world are much more difficult to achieve and creates an analytical gap.

In the same period software vendors have been making promises to solve these problems with new integrated solutions but in many cases they couldn´t deliver as the solutions require separation of data storage between ERP and Group Reporting solutions – illustrated by data duplication, reconciliation and integration challenges to bridge the gap. SAP S/4HANA for Group Reporting is the new solution from SAP which bridges this gap and drives new levels of innovation in Group Reporting and consolidation.

Column5 is pleased to invite you to an SAP S/4HANA Group Reporting briefing. We have organized an inter-active virtual event, featuring speakers from both Column5, SAP and our EPM International Partners. Here you will find out more about and see demonstrated the new S/4HANA solution for Group Reporting and consolidation, which uses the´Universal Journal´ concept to create a single source of truth for financial and management accounting data; from transaction to consolidated close. The key innovation is that consolidation is built directly on the ERP data – allowing you to have complete transparency from entity close to corporate close, also closing the gap between transactions and and consolidated result to dissapear.
