Find me on:

Many clients want to implement BPC v10 themselves with no input from technical services which affects development time, project time line and overall project success. There is a right and wrong way to implement BPC and ensure overall project success. We want every client to achieve the highest quality installation. BPC Column5 Technical Services

Clients that prefer to install separately for the purposes of being proactive in configuration and choosing the technology stack should allow Column5 to develop the BPC environment. Thereby transferring information and knowledge about the correct steps involved. This allows the client to learn the correct procedures then perform the installation in a safe QA or production environment.

With our years of experience we have found a way to reach the ultimate in successful projects. Three years ago at the 3rd Annual Column5 EPM Summit I was explaining “Column5 Technical Services Implementation Milestones to EPM Nirvana”. EPM Nirvana is the complete cessation of suffering; a blissful state attained through realization of a stable and well performing EPM environment. It is also liberation for the IT group. Column5 Technical Services have found the following Technical Project Plan to be the ONLY way to properly implement an EPM suite product, and especially BPC, irrespective of technology stack.

If we follow this plan, and work with the functional team, we can ensure your BPC system is perfectly calibrated. Even after an implementation is complete, some of these processes should continue in the future, as the overall environment will never be static. This is true for both the business and IT units.

Our goal is to educate the EPM Business community that there is not just a “Functional” design document, and that we just install the environments. There should be touch points all along the entire implementation process with Technical Services that is imperative to achieve overall project success.

Column5 Technical Services has installed BPC on both NetWeaver and Microsoft hundreds of times since 2005. Our resources were the first to install BPC on the NetWeaver and Microsoft technology stacks. We are ramp-up partners with SAP which enables us to procure service packs and software before general release. This allows us to practice the implementation and find the best, easiest and most efficient way to configure it correctly. With this experience, we can ensure that the start of the implementation can kick off without issue. This turns out to be 6+ years of installation experience on NW, and 11+ years on MS, which no other company in the world can claim.
