OutlookSoft History: The Start of BPC and Column5

Posted by Craig Bodington on Tue, Mar 10, 2015 @ 09:03 AM

OutlookSoft Corporation was founded in 1999 and developed products for the Enterprise outlooksoftPerformance Management (EPM) arena. The company’s first software release was called “Everest”, and was developed on the Microsoft platform.  Everest provided new planning, forecasting, reporting and dashboarding solutions for clients, and was the stepping stone for the current SAP product called BPC (Business Planning and Consolidation).

OutlookSoft grew quickly over the first few years with its innovative ideas and software, and their solution was soon being implemented worldwide. Throughout this growing period the company rapidly enhanced it solutions and support by hiring developers and consultants with extensive financial expertise and experience.

In May of 2007, with its customer base at approximately 700, OutlookSoft Corporation was purchased by SAP, and BPC was integrated into their vast software product line.

Many of the employees that were instrumental in the rapid development and deployment of BPC have now moved into management and consulting roles at Column5.  The combined credentials and number of these former OutlookSoft employees is unmatched by any other consulting firm or partner of SAP.  Their extensive knowledge and years of working with the BPC software is evident in the heights to which they are taking the solution.  Our Technical Services, Training, Sales, and Consulting Teams are all led by former OutlookSoft team members who all have many years of financial software expertise.

Whether you know the product as 'OutlookSoft' or 'SAP BPC', the Column5 team brings the tradition of innovation, tireless promotion of customer success, and cultivation of a vibrant user community typically associated with smaller, more focused software vendors. This level of expertise, focus, and innovation is seldom seen in the software megavendor service partner space, and has earned Column5 a rare mention in the Gartner Magic Quadrant, an SAP quality designation, and four consecutive Inc 5000 awards. While we are proud of our accolades, we especially enjoy interacting with customers who use the software every day. Our team looks forward to engaging with you at one of our events!
