Posted by Jason Glaser on Tue, Mar 17, 2015 @ 15:03 PM

What exactly is SAP EPM? It’s much more than a few random letters to be sure. Let’s first understand what the second set of letters is before we understand all of them as a whole.

What's in a Good, Better, BEST Practice?

Posted by David Den Boer on Tue, Feb 03, 2015 @ 12:02 PM

Winston Churchill’s friend once said of him, “Winston is a man of simple tastes, he is always prepared to put up with the best of everything.” The desire for the best is something everyone covets, but this aspiration becomes problematic when “best” cannot readily be defined. So how would you know if you received the best?

Posted by Adam Schulang on Tue, Dec 09, 2014 @ 12:12 PM

“What is your BPC upgrade strategy?” or “what is the best plan to migrate BPC?” are the most common questions I am asked by clients looking to upgrade to the latest version of SAP BPC.  Even though clients' landscapes come in all shapes and sizes, the overall strategy for a BPC upgrade is not very different from one client to the next.

Penny Wise and Pound Foolish: Why Your Focus on "Cheap" is Killing Your Profits

Posted by Jamison Chochrek on Tue, Oct 07, 2014 @ 07:10 AM

Remember the great 1996 classic flick, Jerry Maguire? Do you recall that moment early in the movie when Tom Cruise’s character writes his memo before he got whacked? His coworkers clapped and cheered. They did so because they believed in what he said. Then corporate reality set in and they had to get back to work… back to business as usual!  So did Bob “Business as Usual” Sugar win in the end?

Throughout the movie many characters call the memo a “Mission Statement”.  Well, folks, after 20 years I have had it!  I am writing my “memo” in this blog.  While I am not staying up late and photocopying my “memo” to be hand placed on my colleague’s seats, I hope this has a (somewhat) similar effect.

Posted by Jamison Chochrek on Thu, Jul 17, 2014 @ 14:07 PM

3 Reasons You Will Be Happy With BPC

Posted by David Den Boer on Tue, Sep 10, 2013 @ 09:09 AM

At the Apollo temple in Delphi (Greece), an ancient quote is carved in stone, alternately translated as "Nothing in excess" or "All things in moderation". This is a great credo to live by as we all know what excess can bring, especially if we think about things that may seem to be good at the outset. In life, we can think of things like food, wine, and even work that - when managed in small quantities are indeed good things, but when taken to excess, they can become destructive.

Transitioning From EPM Client to Consultant?

Posted by Keith Roberts on Wed, Aug 28, 2013 @ 12:08 PM

Six years ago, after being in an EPM client role for a few years, I decided to transition to a EPM10 & BPC consultant role. This is not a comprehensive list just a personal perspective. For many this may seem like a lateral move, but it was much more of an upgrade.
